Player Guide
DistrictWarden keeps track of shop properties in your server's shopping district. Everything you can do with it only shows you information — nothing you run here changes your claim or your shops.
If you run the server, read the admin pages instead, starting with Configuration.
What it does
Staff use DistrictWarden to keep the shopping district tidy. It watches which claims are owned in the shopping world and which shops in them are stocked and able to trade.
Commands
The base command is /districtwarden, with two shorter aliases that work the same way:
/dw
/marketwarden
/dw or /dw help
Shows the commands available to you.
/dw status
Shows the status of every property you own — one line each, as a property id followed by its status:
griefdefender:3f2b8c1e-5a7d-4e0f-9b6a-1c2d3e4f5a6b: ACTIVE
If DistrictWarden is not tracking any property of yours, it tells you so. That is normal if you have not claimed land in a managed world yet.
/dw status <property>
Looks up one property by its id — handy for checking a single property, including one you do not own.
/dw status griefdefender:3f2b8c1e-5a7d-4e0f-9b6a-1c2d3e4f5a6b
/dw shops [property]
Lists the shops recorded on your properties, or on one property if you give its id:
/dw shops
/dw shops griefdefender:3f2b8c1e-5a7d-4e0f-9b6a-1c2d3e4f5a6b
Each line shows the shop id, what it trades, whether it buys or sells, and its state, with a count by state at the end. A shop you just built may not appear until it has been scanned, so give it a little time or ask staff to refresh.
You rarely need to type a long id. Press Tab after /dw status or /dw shops to pick one.
Understanding property ids
A property id looks like this:
griefdefender:3f2b8c1e-5a7d-4e0f-9b6a-1c2d3e4f5a6b
Read it as "the GriefDefender claim with that id". Each of your claims in a managed world is one property.
Subclaims belong to their parent. If you split a claim into subclaims, DistrictWarden still treats the whole claim as one property, and shops in any subclaim count towards it.
What the statuses mean
You will almost always see ACTIVE — the property is tracked normally and needs no attention. Shops also show EMPTY (cannot trade right now) and FROZEN (trading turned off).
DistrictWarden also defines statuses for the warning and removal process (WARNING_1, FINAL_WARNING, ARCHIVED and others). Those parts of the plugin are still being built, so you will not see them on a live server today. If your server turns them on later, your staff will explain what they mean and how much notice you get.
Common questions
My property does not show up. Three things, in order: the land must be claimed (DistrictWarden only tracks owned claims); it must be in a world your staff has enabled; and claims are read when the server starts, so a claim made since then will not appear until staff refresh it. Ask staff to run /dw reconcile.
I transferred my claim, but it still lists me. Same reason — ownership is re-read when the server starts or staff refresh.
My subclaims do not show as separate properties. That is intended — see Understanding property ids above.
Will my shops be deleted if they run out of stock? Not on their own. DistrictWarden warns the owner about an empty shop, but a shop is only ever removed by an explicit staff command. See Shop Lifecycle.
Permissions
You have all of these by default; your server may have changed that.
| Permission | What it allows |
|---|---|
districtwarden.use | Use /dw at all |
districtwarden.status | Use /dw status |
districtwarden.shops | Use /dw shops |
