RallyPoint
Move your whole server, together, without moving anyone who did not ask to be moved.
RallyPoint is a Paper plugin for mass-teleporting players around your server during events. Players opt in once, and a host can then gather everyone at a location, at a player, or at a saved waypoint. Anyone who has not opted in is never touched.
It was built for the Crafting For Christ "End of the World" tour: a livestreamed walkthrough of a world before a reset, where a host flies from build to build and brings the crowd along.
How it works
- Players run
/rally optinonce. Their choice is saved the moment it changes and survives restarts. - Before the event, the host saves the route as named waypoints with
/rally waypoint set <name>. - During the event,
/rally go <name>runs a countdown, preloads the destination chunk, and teleports the crowd in small batches, scattered around the destination so nobody lands in a pile. - Afterwards,
/rally returnsends everyone back to exactly where they were standing, including players who logged off mid-tour.
Key features
- Opt-in by default - nobody is teleported unless they asked to be. State is written to disk on every change, so a crash never loses it.
- Safe crowd teleports - destination chunks preload asynchronously, teleports spread across ticks, and players are taken off boats, minecarts, and horses first.
- Destination safety checks - rallies into the void, lava, solid blocks, or the Nether roof are refused unless you add
force. - Countdown - a configurable countdown with title, chat, and sound, so nobody is yanked mid-sentence.
- Named waypoints - pre-register the route and rally to stops by name.
- Guided tours - build a tour of every MineMail mailbox and step the crowd through the stops in order with
/rally tour next. The tour and your position in it survive a restart. - Return -
/rally returnputs everyone back where they were, and catches up anyone who was offline at the time when they next log in. - Cancel -
/rally cancelcalls off a rally mid-countdown, before anyone moves. - Stage mode - hold the crowd in spectator mode, or frozen in place, so nobody wanders in front of the camera.
- Roster and history - see who is opted in and online, and what rallies have already fired.
